We are always keen to perform developmental and contract research work, where appropriate we can work with our customers to develop assays and protocols according to their specific requirements.
Some of the specialist virological techniques we offer in addition to those routinely available for diagnostic purposes are summarised below.
Virus Isolation
This is particularly relevant to vaccine efficacy studies; we have the techniques and experience necessary for the isolation, identification and quantification of viruses from clinical material, where appropriate in primary cell cultures from the species concerned.
Serology
In vaccine studies it is often necessary to perform techniques of a more specialised nature than those made routinely available for diagnostic purposes, and we will be pleased to discuss your requirements.
Enteric Viruses
We have several specialist techniques for rotavirus and coronavirus identification and serology. If you are interested in serotyping rotaviruses with monoclonal antibodies, serotype-specific virus neutralisation tests, detection of atypical rotaviruses, or any other specific requirement please contact us.
Molecular Biology
We have the facilities and expertise to design and operate assays for the presence of specific DNA or RNA sequences achieved a variety of samples by the Polymerase Chain Reaction. Testing of Disinfectants
We can design and perform studies to test the effect of disinfectants on a variety of viruses. Studies can be performed according to the British Standard where appropriate.
